Mordred's Revenge
Calling all those with a bloodlust for player vs player mayhem! Broadsword Online Games launched their 10th Catch Up In Caledonia event, this time with a twist unseen for years. For the first time in ages, the Mordred PvP ruleset returned for a time-limited event on the Ywain server cluster. The event was open to both free-to-play (Endless Conquest) and subscribed (Veteran) accounts, running from 3 PM EST Monday, 4 Dec 2023 to 3 PM EST Monday, 11 December 2023.
Catch Up In Caledonia is a fresh-start event: everyone creates a brand new level 1 character and progresses through PvP kills in the Caledonia battleground, no PvE grind. You earn experience, armor, weapons, jewelry, master levels, champion levels, and realm ranks as you go.
Progressive level caps
The level cap increased every 24 hours:
- Day 1 (Mon): Level 19
- Day 2 (Tue): Level 29
- Day 3 (Wed): Level 39
- Day 4 (Thu): Level 49
- Days 5–7 (Fri–Mon): Level 50
Characters 5+ levels below the day’s cap received the Caledonia Boost buff, greatly increasing damage dealt, reducing damage taken from higher-level characters, and doubling XP and BP rewards for themselves and their group. At cap 49 the buff extended to characters 3+ levels under.
Mordred ruleset
The Mordred PvP ruleset lets characters from all 3 realms group together, forming unique setups not available in traditional RvR, you and up to 7 groupmates against everyone else, across 45 classes.
No buffbot required: buff tokens under level 40 were free, Realm Enhancement NPC buffs became non-overwriteable, and a new full-capped Beibhinn’s Blessing token was usable at level 50 within Caledonia.
Full event details were posted at the official event page, with the action streamed on twitch.tv/officialdaoc.
